How to enable a disabled or inactive Add-in within Outlook

Are you missing an Add-in from within Outlook?

If so then check out the easy to follow guide below on how to check the status of an Add-in, you can also proceed to the steps on how to enable an inactive or disabled Add-in.

 

Checking the status of an add-in

  1. Within Outlook click “File
  2. Click “Options
  3. Click “Add-ins
  4. You can now see and review all the Add-ins and their status

  5. There are 3 types of statuses
    • Active = Working
    • Inactive = Potentially not working
    • Disabled = Definitely not working

Enabling a disabled add-in

In the example below we will be enabling the “Macroview DMF” Add-in from both Disabled and Inactive states.

  1. Within Outlook click “File
  2. Click “Options
  3. Click “Add-ins
  4. At the base of the page you will see “Manage”, use the drop down and select “Disabled Items” and click “Go…
  5. Select the disabled items (Marco View DMF) from the list and click “Enable”.
  6. Click “Close”.
  7. The MarcoView DMF Add-in is now active and ready to use!

 

 

Enabling a Inactive add-in

  1. Within Outlook click “File
  2. Click “Options
  3. Click “Add-ins
  4. At the base of the page you will see “Manage”, use the drop down and select “COM Add-ins” and click “Go…
  5. Check the box of the Add-in you would like to activate (MarcoView DMF).
  6. Click “OK”.
  7. The MarcoView DMF Add-in is now active and ready to use!
